Where The Jungle Meets The Sea .........
Trip Introduction
OFFSHORE FISHING - BEST BLUE WATER FISHING ON THE PLANET.
WHERE JUNGLE MEETS SEA - WILDEST COASTLINE OF THE AMERICAS
Escape to the edge of paradise at Punta Ardita, nestled in the most secluded corner of the continental tropical eastern Pacific Coast. Imagine hundreds of kilometers of untouched wilderness with no roads in sight – a dream come true for hard-core anglers and nature enthusiasts alike!
But Punta Ardita offers more than just world-class fishing. From July to November, witness a breathtaking spectacle as hundreds of Humpback Whales migrate to the warm, deep waters of nearby Bahía Solano to mate and give birth.
Beyond the wonders of the deep, a wealth of activities awaits. Explore vibrant coral reefs and diverse marine life through scuba diving or snorkeling. Lace up your hiking boots and embark on trails through lush rainforests. Kayak through tranquil waters and immerse yourself in the beauty of the coastline.
Punta Ardita isn't just about ticking off experiences – it's about connecting with nature and local culture. Spend time with indigenous communities, learn about their traditions, and gain a deeper appreciation for this unique paradise. These experiences will create lasting memories for the whole family, complementing the thrill of reeling in a trophy fish.
The Fishing
Spring ignites the fishing scene with the arrival of hungry Sailfish in April. These acrobatic predators swarm close to shore, sometimes just a mile out! With their abundance, it’s common to see anglers reeling in not just one, but two or even three Sailfish at once (double or triple hookups).
As summer unfolds, the action intensifies. Marlin season heats up from June to November, coinciding with near-perfect conditions – glassy-calm seas. This prime window presents the ultimate challenge for ambitious anglers: a grand slam – catching all three of the prized billfish – Blue Marlin, Black Marlin, and Striped Marlin.
But wait, there’s more! This peak fishing period also overlaps with the on-land rainy season creating a unique feeding frenzy. River runoff forms vast lines of debris that drift offshore, creating a rich buffet at the meeting point of the Humboldt and Panama Currents. Here, amidst this floating bounty, gather the underwater giants: magnificent Marlin, schools of hard-fighting Tuna, and of course, the legendary monster Mahi Mahi.
The party doesn’t end there. Early August brings an influx of Wahoo, renowned for their electrifying bursts of speed. And throughout the year, the wild Pacific teems with Yellowfin Tuna in all sizes, from football-shaped fighters to colossal 200-pound behemoths!
